A new paper titled “Elevating Comfort and Enjoyment in Commercial Space Travel: Integrated Well-being Strategies” has been presented at the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), Milan, October 2024.

The publication is co-authored by Thomas J.-R. Lagarde, Dr. Marc M. Cohen, Vincent Alder, and Simran Kumar.

This work explores how comfort, sensory quality, and recreational opportunities can be thoughtfully integrated into commercial space environments. It discusses strategies such as artificial gravity, natural light systems, vegetation, and extended reality (XR) to improve both physical and psychological well-being during spaceflight. The study also introduces design concepts like the SmartReflector system for light delivery and proposes the use of moss-based passive oxygen production systems in future space habitats.

Nouvelle publication : Améliorer le confort et le plaisir dans le voyage spatial commercial

Un nouvel article, intitulé « Améliorer le confort et le plaisir dans le voyage spatial commercial : stratégies intégrées de bien-être », a été présenté lors du 75e Congrès Astronautique International (IAC) à Milan, en octobre 2024.

Les co-auteurs de cette étude sont Thomas J.-R. Lagarde, Dr. Marc M. Cohen, Vincent Alder et Simran Kumar.

Ce travail examine l’intégration du confort, de la qualité sensorielle et des loisirs dans les environnements spatiaux commerciaux. L’étude aborde des stratégies telles que la gravité artificielle, la lumière naturelle, la végétation et la réalité étendue (XR) pour soutenir le bien-être physique et psychologique des voyageurs spatiaux. Elle introduit notamment le système SmartReflector pour la lumière naturelle, et propose l’utilisation de mousses végétales pour une production passive d’oxygène dans les futurs habitats spatiaux.
